Here is an outstanding Chinese blue and white meiping form porcelain vase. It has a truly one of the finer underglazed iron red dragon. The combination of blue white and underglazed iron red color is among the most difficult technique of ceramic making. Because of the huge difference of the firing temperatures of both colors, most underglazed iron red painting would be melted together and lose its strokes and shapes. Take a look at our close up pictures of the dragon of this vase, every stroke is clear. It has some small green spot, evidence of true underglazed iron red color. An adult dragon wrapped its body around the shoulder of the body in the blue clouds, a young dragon rises above the ocean leaning to conquer the large fire ball from its parent. Underneath this vase, it has a 6 character Qinglong seal mark. It’s in good condition without any major imperfection, only normal wear and tear due to its age. It measures 34cm tall.
